Martin Scorsese’s epic, The Irishman is set to make its debut at the New York Film Festival tonight. The film reunites Scorsese with Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci and Ray Liotta who star in the mob drama.
The Irishman which runs at 209 minutes charts the saga of organised crime in post-war America informed by means of the eyes of World Battle II veteran Frank Sheeran, a hustler and hitman who labored alongside a number of the most infamous figures of the 20th Century.
“Spanning decades, the film chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa, and offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime: its inner workings, rivalries and connections to mainstream politics.”
The Irishman will stream on Netflix from November 27.
